German Fried Potatoes

8 potatoes -- sliced 1/4" thick
2 tablespoons margarine
1 large onion -- sliced
1/3 cup water
Peel and slice potatoes. Chop or slice onion. Melt margarine in skillet and add sliced potatoes and onions. Brown potatoes and onions. Add 1/3 cup water and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes or until tender.
