Parmesan Twists (Bread Machine Recipe)
List of Ingredients
3/4 cup Water
2 TBL Olive Oil
2 cups Bread Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 TBL Sugar
1 tsp Active Dry Yeast
1/3 cup Margarine or Butter, melted
2 TBL grated Parmesan Cheese
Recipe
1. Place all ingredients except margarine/butter and cheese in bread
machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. (Note: Salt
should not be in direct contact of yeast, especially if the delay cycle
is going to be used.)
2. Select "Dough Cycle".
3. Remove dough from pan. Place dough in greased bowl (I used olive
oil); turn greased side up to coat completely. Cover and let rise in
warm, draft free place for 30 minutes or until doubled. (Dough is ready
if indentation remains when touched.)
4. Lightly coat cookie sheet with olive oil. Punch dough down. Divide
dough into 20 equal pieces. Roll each piece into 10 to 12 inch rope.
Pinch end of 2 ropes together. Twist ropes together, starting at
pinched end, then pinch remaining end to seal. Place twists on cookie
sheet.
5. Mix margarine/butter and cheese; brush over twists. (I brushed the
butter on the twists then sprinkled them with a generous helping of
parmesan cheese.) Cover and let rise in warm, draft free place 20 to 30
minutes or until doubled.
6. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden
brown. Serve warm, or cool on wire rack.
