    PIE CRUST

    Source of Recipe

    NET

    1 C Shortening
    3 C Flour
    1 tsp Salt
    shallow 1/2 C ice water

I food processor zip together the shortening, flour, & salt until crumbly. Then add all water at one time & zap until it forms a ball. Form into desired patty sizes & chill for at least 1/2 hr. If I've chilled mine overnight or for an extended time, I then put them in the microwave for 15 seconds to soften them up a tiny bit before rolling them out.

I personally think doing them in a food processor makes a difference...it sure makes it easier, I know that for sure. Also chilling the dough & making it softer has made a difference. I love working with my dough. It doesn't crumble as I'm working with it.
