    Slice & Bake Sugar Cookies

    1 1/2 C sifted confectioners sugar
    1 C unsalted butter, room temperature
    1 lg egg
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp almond extract
    2 1/2 C sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp cream of tartar

    Cream butter for 2 minutes; add sugar and beat for an additional 2 minutes.
    Add egg, vanilla and almond extract, beat until light and fluffy. Combine dry ingredients and add to batter, stirring to blend.

    Wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
    Slice and bake at 375°F for 7-8 minutes.
