    MAKING GRA[E JELLY
    The Durdel way
cut off the bunches and leave together…
Make sure to get all sperwebs and etc off.. We cut back the vines so that we can get to the grapes easier….We had lots of grapes every year and not every other year…
Wash at least 2 times and put in large cooker and cover to top OF GRAPES with water .. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 25 minutes…. Let cool for awhile then use a metal strainer with small holes and pour thru. After that use a wire strainer and strain the juice thru…. We make up the juice with specks of grape peelings and then we wait for a day or two or freeze it to make jelly later…. The grape peelings cook up and the jelly is so dark and grapy….
    TO MAKE UP THE JELLY
Make jelly with 5 cups of juice and 1 box of sure jell in large pan with 1 tsp. oleo bring to a full rolling boil stiring all the time….. Add 7 cups of sugar, ALL AT ONCE….THEN STIR until it comes to full boil and then continue to stir after it can’t be stir down for 1 MINUTE…skim off any foam then pour into jelly jars or pint jars and clean off the tops and seal with lids and bands…Make sure they are tight… then turn them upside down and don’t move for 24 hours….
Tonya and Jim are finishing up 25 pints right now as I am writting this down,,,
