You had to be a teenager in the 1950's in
Iowa or Illinois to know about these.
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
1/2 tablespoon Sweet Hungarian Paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne or Zip
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, very finely chopped
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 to 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
soft hamburger buns for serving
"everything" (sliced dill pickles, catsup, mustard,
chopped onions)
In pan, combine catsup, water, and paprika and heat thoroughly. Add beef, onion, mustard, flour,
salt and pepper. Stir well. Cook gently for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve in
hamburger buns with condiments. This recipe doubles, triples, and so on until you can feed
