Will’s Favorite Chili Recipe
It’s pretty easy, this makes a really big batch. The dutch oven was full! We put some in the freezer for later. Will said not to change a thing of this recipe.
2 ½ lbs of at least 75% ground beef
1 bag of frozen chopped onions
2 large green peppers, chopped
1 can of medium spiced Bush’s Chili Beans
1 can of hot spiced Bush’s Chili Beans
1 can of Southwestern Chilie & Cumin Black Beans
1 can of Bush’s Black Beans
1 can of refried Black Beans
3 cans of Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes
1 lg can of Hunt’s Crushed Tomatoes
4 cubes of Beef Boullion
4 cloves of garlic (more if you like)
Salt (lightly, some of the other ingredients will have salt. Taste first.)
Pepper to taste
Celery Seed (a couple of shakes)
Chili Powder (about 2 to 3 Tablespoons)
Cayenne Pepper (three or four shakes)
Directions:
* Brown the hamburger. While browning, add some of the spices to the meat. You will be spicing as you add ingredients.
* Clean and chop the green peppers into whatever size chunks you desire.
* Add the onions and the green peppers to the browned hamburger. Add a bit of the seasonings to the vegetables.
* Start opening cans! As soon as the onions are fairly translucent, you can start adding the tomatoes and beans (hold off on the refried beans for now). Stir thoroughly.
* Add the boullion, any garlic, chili powder, or other spices you have left.
* When the chili is nice and hot, add the can of refried beans. This way, they will just melt into the mixture. They will help thicken the chili.
* Taste to make sure you are satisfied and enjoy!
