List of Ingredients
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
8 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 tablespoons butter
2 cups buttermilk
Recipe
Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and soda into large mixing bowl. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender. Make a well. Add buttermilk all at once and stir until a soft dough is formed and leaves sides of bowl. turn out on a floured board and knead about 1 minute. Pat or roll dough 1/2" thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter if desired. Bake in a preheated 450 oven 12-15 minutes. Makes about 32 2" biscuits. Serve with blackberry jam or honey.
