Apple Oat Crisp
Warm apple crisp with cold vanilla ice cream melting all over...it's a great combination...one of our family's favorites. We like it for breakfast too.
List of Ingredients
8 c. apples, peeled and sliced
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 1/3 c. rolled oats
1 tbsp. cinnamon (Spice Hunter has a Sweet Spice
that I like to use)
Whipped cream or ice cream
Recipe
Put apples, sugar and flour in a large bowl to mix and then into a 9x13 baking dish. In another bowl, mix brown sugar and flour. Cut in butter. Add oats and spices. Sprinkle this over the apples and bake for 1 hour (or until you can see the middle of the pan bubbling) at 300. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Depending on the sweetness of the apple you use, you can cut down (or increase) the sugar. I like to use Golden Delicious for all my baking - they are sweet and hold their shape. You can cut the recipe in half for a 9" square pan.
