    Recipe Introduction


    Sister Anita taught my children. She is now with the angels, but we all remember her Rum Cake she baked at Christmas every year. Luckily she gave me the recipe.

    List of Ingredients




    Cake:
    1 box Duncan Hines butter yellow cake mix
    1/2 cup Crisco
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 cup light rum
    4 eggs
    1 cup chopped pecans

    Glaze:
    1 cup powdered sugar
    1 stick butter
    1/4 cup water
    1/4 cup rum

    Recipe



    Beat all cake ingredients together for 4 minutes. Place 1 cup nuts in bottom of greased bundt or tube pan. Pour cake batter over. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes.

    Glaze: Boil all ingredients together for 5 minutes.

    Prick cake with large fork. Pour 1/2 of glaze on cake as soon as it is removed from the oven. Turn cake onto plate, prick with fork and pour remainder of glaze over.
