    Sausage Gravy from Nan

    We serve breakfast every Sunday morning at Church after our early morning service..This is a favorite .

    Sausage Gravy Biscuits

    1/2 pound lean bulk sausage
    1/4 cup butter
    1/3 cup flour
    31/4 cups milk
    1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    Brown sausage in a large skillet, cooking until it crumbles: drain well and set aside.
    Melt butter in skillet; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook stirring constantly for about 1 minute.
    Gradually add the milk and bring to a boil over med. to low heat, stirring until thickened.
    Stir in sausage and seasonings, cook until heated, stirring constantly.
    Serve over split biscuits .

    For the biscuits, we use Biscuit Mix.
