    Popcorn Cake

This recipe was given to me by a very good friend. She made it for me when I was sick. Enjoy!

    POPCORN CAKE
    12 cups WHITE popped popcorn
    1 stick butter or oleo
    1/2 cup oil
    l - l lb. pkg of marshmallows(make sure it reads 16 oz.)
    l pkg.small gumdrops
l lg. jar salted dry roasted peanuts
    food coloring
Pop the corn using only oil but no salt. Usinga a very large pan, measure
out 12 cups of popped popcorn, gumdrops and nuts and set it aside.
Melt the marshmallows, oil and butter in the microwave, stirring often. When it
is at a pour stage add the food coloring. I like to use red as it gives it a pretty
pink color. Pour the mixture over the popcorn and stir quickly. You may use
your hands as all the popcorn has to be coated. Press hard into a ungreased
    angel food cake pan.
Let it set for 4 or more hours or even overnite. Run a knife around the edge when
ready to invert on a cake plate. Cut with an electric or serrated knife. Will
    yield 22 or more pieces.
This is pretty for a child's party or used at Christmas with a large red candle in
    the middle of the cake.
