    Cooking Class

    Recipe Introduction

    I took cooking classes from Hanna in Florida and this is one of the breads she bakes daily and sells in her gourmet cooking store.

    List of Ingredients

    3 cups bread flour
    1 T. yeast
    1 c. warm milk
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 T. butter or shortening
    1 egg

    Melt shortening or butter in a large bowl. Beat in eggs and milk. Add yeast and salt and sugar. Stir in flour.
    Mix all together until dough is smooth. Knead it several times and place into large greased bowl. Let rise until doubled. Form into rolls or 2 loaves of bread.
    Cover and let rise. Bake bread at 375 approx. 20 minutes.
    For rolls bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.
    ```~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Hanna's notes:
    This is the most versatile dough you have ever worked with.
    I use it for rolls, adding parmesan cheese, or even as a sweet bread. Great basic. Buttermilk is good also.
    Use 1/8 c. of sugar if you do not want the bread too sweet.
    I like to use shortening for the bread and butter for dinner rolls.
