    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cans of Pitted Tart Pie Cherries
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 Heaping tablespoons flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon almond flavoring
    • Few drops of red food coloring


    Instructions


    1. Drain cherries reserving the liquid from one can.
    2. In medium saucepan, combine sugar, flour and cinnamon.
    3. Add liquid from one can of cherries, mixing well.
    4. Add cherries and almond flavoring.
    5. Cook over low heat till mixture thickens, stirring occasionally.
    6. Pour into uncooked piecrust (while mixture is hot).
    7. Dot with butter or margarine and add top crust.
    8. Sprinkle top with sugar and cinnamon, if desired.
    9. Bake at 425 degrees until crust is golden brown, about 20 minutes.
    10. Cool on rack.
