    Recipe Introduction

A very cripy cookie. Not too sweet. It does flatten out with cooking. If you don't like crispy cookies then these are not for you.

    List of Ingredients

    CHERRY OAT CRISPIES

1 Cup butter (I used real)
    1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup sugar (I used sugar blend)
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 cup flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking soda
3 Cups oats, regular of quick cooking
    1/2 Cup chopped nets
    1/2 Cup dried cherries, chopped

Cream together the butter, brown sugar and sugar. Add the vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after adding each egg.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to the mixture, beating well after each addition.

Stir in the oats, nuts and cherries into the dough and blend thoroughly.

Form the dough into two logs. Wrap each log in waxed papaer and chill at least 4 hours. (May be frozen at this point)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice each log into slices about 1/2 inch think and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for about 10-15 minutes per batch.

    Yield about 4 dozen cookies
