Another one of my mothers recipes. A good spice cookie





List of Ingredients



• 3/4 cups shortening
  
• 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  
• 3 eggs well beaten
  
• 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
  
• 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  
• 1 teaspoon cloves
  
• 1 teaspoon allspice
  
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
  
• 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  
• 1 cup raisins
  






Instructions



1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one of a time. Sift 2 cups of flour with the soda, salt, and spices. Add slowly to the sugar mixture. Add raisins and nuts mixed with the rest of the flour. Drop by teaspoons on a greased baking sheet. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
