    Red Velvet Cake with Frosting

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 eggs
    • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
    • 1 1/2 c. sugar
    • 2 sticks margarine
    • 1 c. cooking oil
    • 2 tbsp. cocoa
    • 1 tsp. baking soda
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1 c. buttermilk
    • 2 tsp. vanilla
    • 2 oz. red food coloring
    • Frosting**
    • 1 stick margarine
    • 1- 8 oz pkg. cream cheese
    • 1 box confectioner's sugar
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 1 c. pecans


    Instructions


    1. Mix all ingredients together for cake.
    2. Bake in 3 layers or in tube pan at 325 degrees
    3. layers for about 20 to 25 minutes.
    4. Tube pan, check after 30 minutes.
    5. Frosting**
    6. Combine margarine and cream cheese,
    7. add vanilla and then gradually add sugar and nuts, mixing well.
    8. Spread on cooled cake.
