    Bar- Toffee Squares

    List of Ingredients





    1 cup (2 sticks) butter
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 cups sifted flour
    1/2 pound milk chocolate chips
    1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Cream butter. Add sugar gradually. Blend in egg yolk, vanilla, salt and flour.

    Press into greased 15-by-10-by-1-inch pan, or into rectangle about 10 by 15 inches on greased cookie sheet. If batter is too sticky to spread, flour fingers lightly. Bake in preheated oven about 20 minutes.

    While it is still hot, sprinkle milk chocolate chips over top and spread with knife or spatula. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and let cool. Cut into small squares then refrigerate. Makes about 6 dozen.
