    List of Ingredients






    3 cups prepared cherries, from fresh or canned, as above
    2/3 cup packed brown sugar
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup oats
    1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
    3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    Whipped cream or ice cream, optional toppings

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Grease an 8-by-8-by-2-inch square pan.

    Spread prepared cherries in pan. Combine sugar, flour, oats and butter; sprinkle over cherries.

    Bake in oven about 30 minutes or until topping is golden and cherries are tender. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired. Serves 6.
