    1/2 lb. thick-sliced, meaty bacon

    2 t. brown sugar per strip of bacon, or to taste

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lay out the bacon on a jelly-roll pan and bake for 10 minutes. Pour off the fat. Sprinkle 2 t. of brown sugar over each bacon strip. Return to the oven for 8 minutes longer. Turn the bacon over and bake for 2-3 minutes longer. Watch carefully; the bacon can easily overbrown and burn.

    Remove the bacon from the oven and place on a plate to cool slightly before serving. Makes 6 servings.
