    1 (16-ounce) can tomato sauce
    2 garlic cloves, pressed
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1/4 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
    1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper (optional)
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

    Recipe



    Cook first 4 ingredients and if desired, crushed red pepper in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until reduced to 1 1/4 cups (about 10 minutes. Stir in basil. Yield 1 1/4 cups.
