    BBQ- Birmingham Barbecue Sauce

    List of Ingredients




    1 (17-ounce) bottle catsup
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1/3 cup olive oil
    1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon white vinegar
    2 tablelspoons Worcestershire sauce
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
    2 beef-flavored bouillon cubes
    1 bay leaf
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

    Recipe



    Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan; stir well. Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat, and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove and discard bay leaf. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use as a basting sauce for chicken or pork during cooking. Yield 3 cups. from America's Best Recipes 1990
