Tabasco-Flavored Almonds and Cashews
List of Ingredients
6 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 pounds roasted unsalted cashews
1 1/2 pounds roasted unsalted almonds
1/4 cup (or more) Tabasco or other hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon (or more) coarse salt
Recipe
Heat 3 tablespoon oil in each of 2 heavy large skillets over medium heat. Place cashews in 1 skillet and almonds in another. Cooks nuts until crisp and brown, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes for cashews and 8 minutes for almonds. Transfer nuts to large rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle 1/4 cup Tabasco over nuts, stirring constantly. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon salt over, tossing to coat evenly. Taste, adding more Tabasco and salt if desired. Cool completely. (Can be prepared 2 days ahead. Store in airtight container. Rewarm nuts in 350 F degree oven before serving, if desired.)
