Oak Hill Potatoes
List of Ingredients
- 8 raw potatoes cubed
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 3 Tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup unseasoned fresh bread crumbs
Instructions
- Melt butter in saucepan
- Add flour
- Add milk stirring constantly ( you may want to add more milk at this time depending on how thick you want your cream sauce to be).
- Pour cream sauce over potatoes in a 2 quart casserole.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the top with cheddar cheese and bread crumbs.
- Bake in a slow oven ( 325 degrees) for 1 1/2 hours.
- This should be brown,bubbling and golden on top when done.
Final Comments
You can parboil the raw potatoes to cut down on the time.
