    Baking Powder Biscuits

    Recipe Introduction

This is the recipe that my mother gave me, many moons ago. Don't work the dough to much , it will make the biscuits tough.
    Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
Bake in a 450 degree oven 10/12 minutes or till golden brown

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups all purpose flour
    3/4 cup millk
    3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
    1 Teaspoon Salt
    1/4 Cup Shortening....Mama used Crisco

    Recipe

Add the shortenig to the dry ingredients and mix together with a fork or pastry cutter until well combined. Add the milk and mix until dough is moist and a bit sticky to the touch.
Turn out on a floured board and pat down . You can roll it out, but I find that makes it tough. Make it about 3/4" thick. Cut out the biscuits with a cutter, or as my mother would do, use a drinking glass to cut with. Dip the cutter/glass in flour to prevent sticking.
