    Recipe Introduction

****If you make your loops close together, when they rise, they will be a solid bun. I've tried with just rolling out the balls, but not as good - don't know why. LOL

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup lukewarm water
    1 tbsp. sugar (white)
    1 package dry yeast

    Recipe

Put water in small bowl. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Sprinkle in yeast and DON'T STIR. Let sit for 10 minutes.

IN a large bowl, measure out 2 1/2 cups while flour and add 1 tsp. salt. Stir yeast with fork then add to flour. Stir in another cup of flour. Knead about 10 mins. Place in greased bowl and let rise untill doubled - about an hour. While waiting, shred about 1/2 pound (1 1/2 cups) of sharp cheddar. Punch down dough and knead in cheese. Divide dough into about 16 equal balls. Roll out like snakes and loop into pretzel shapes. Let rise for another 30 minutes or so. Bake at 425 for 13 - 15 minutes.
