    Pie Crust

    Source of Recipe

A combination of many pie crust recipes

    Recipe Introduction

Finally, I can make pie crust. Big hint. The less you touch it, the better it turns out

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups all purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tablespoon sugar
1 stick cold butter, divided into 32 small pieces
1/2 cup shortening, such as Crisco
    5-6 Tablespoons ice cold water

    Recipe

In the bowl of a food processor, pulse flour, salt, and sugar about 3-4 times to combine. Add butter chunks and shortening. Pulse 6-7 times until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ICE water, a tablespoon at a time, processing after each tablespoon until dough comes together in a ball. Add as little as possible. Pull together into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least an hour.
Cut dough in half and roll into a 10 inch round on a floured surface. Roll up on your rolling pin and unroll into a 9 inch pie pan. Adjust edges. Roll second crust for your top crust.
