    Asparagus Crisp Sticks

    Recipe Introduction


    This is a favorite snack of the older Whizbangs.


    List of Ingredients


    • 20 Fresh asparagus spears
    • 1/2 cup Water
    • 1 Egg
    • 2 tablespoons Water
    • 1 sleeve Salted crackers
    • Oil for frying


    Instructions


    1. Place asparagus, and water in non reactive skillet. Cover and heat to boiling,

    2. Lower heat,simmer for 5 min. drain.

    3. Beat egg with 2 tablespoons water, and garlic

    4. Crush crackers into fine crumbs

    5. Dip asparagus in egg mixture, then into crumbs

    6. Set aside to dry a little

    7. Dip again, to coat well

    8. Use shallow skillet with hot oil sufficient to cover spears. Fry to golden brown.

    9. Drain on paper towels, serve hot.
