    1 cup all-purpose flour
    3/4 tsp. Baking powder
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    5 Tblsp. Butter, softened
    1 tsp. Vanilla extract
    1 cup chopped pecans, divided

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350° F. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In another bowl, cream together sugar, egg, butter, and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in 3/4 cup pecans; spread evenly into a well-greased 8-inch square baking pan. Top with remaining 1/4 cup pecans. Bake about 30 minutes, until edges are lightly browned and top springs back when lightly touched in center. Cool in pan; cut into bars.
