    CHOCOLATE APPLESAUCE CAKE

    1/2 c. margarine, softened
    1/2 c. sugar
    Granular Splenda equivalent to 1 cup sugar
    Egg substitute equivalent to 2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    2 T. baking cocoa
    1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt (do not leave out)
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 c. unsweetened applesauce

    TOPPING:
    1 c. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    2 T. granular Splenda

    In a mixing bowl, cream margarine, sugar and Splenda. Add egg substitute; beat well. Combine dry ingredients; add to the creamed mixture alternately with the applesauce.

    Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350-F for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

    One serving equals: 220 calories…274 mg sodium…trace cholesterol…27 carbohydrate…4 gm protein…12 gm fat ++++ Exchanges: 1 starch…2 fat…1 fruit
