    Refried Black Beans

    Makes 1 cup

    1 15-ounce black beans, dried
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    1/2 teaspoon cumin
    2 teaspoons olive oil

    In a blender or food processor, puree beans, add chili powder and cumin. Blend

    2. In a nonstick skillet, heat olive oil.Add bean mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until beans are warm

    3. Rinsing wil reduce the sodium in the beans by one- half


    One 1-Tablespoon serving equals: 28 calories...1 g fat... 1 g protein...4 g carbohydrates... 0 cholesterol... 45 mg sodium
