    Alaska Wildland Sauce
    “This pineapple-pistachio sauce is a perfect complement to salmon that’s been grilled, baked or broiled.”

    Makes 1 cup

    1 cup pineapple juice
    2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 teaspoon minced or grated gingerroot
    1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
    Black pepper to taste
    2 teaspoons cornstarch
    1/2 cup water
    2 tablespoons finely chopped pistachio nuts

    In small saucepan combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and pepper. Bring to boil and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    In small bowl blend cornstarch and water into a smooth paste, whisk into hot mixture until smooth and cook until thickened. Stir in pistachio nuts.
