    1-1/2 cups sugar
    1/2 cup shortening
    2 eggs
    2-1/4 cups purèed peaches
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. each cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 cup finely chopped pecans


    Recipe



    Heat oven to 325º F. (165º C).
    Pit and slice enough peaches to make required amount of puree. Cream sugar amd shortening.
    Add eggs; mix thoroughly. Add peach purèe and dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
    Add vanilla and chopped pecans; stir until blended.
    Pour into 2 (9x5") loaf pans, well greased and floured. Bake at 325° F 55 - 60 minutes. Let bread cool a few minutes before removing from pan. Makes 2 loaves.
