    THOMAS JEFFERSON FAVORITE BREAD PUDDING

    Recipe Introduction


    Had so many bread pudding recipes from the family, just thought this would really top the list. I do say, It is very good. Try it too.After cooking, the brandy has only the taste left.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 pounds 3/4 inch cubed stale bread
    • 4 cups scalded milk
    • 1/2 pound butter
    • 1/2 pint brandy
    • 8 eggs
    • 3 cups sugar
    • 3/4 Tablespoons nutmeg
    • 2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.


    Instructions


    1. Cut up bread while milk and butter are heating in a pot.
    2. Combine liquids, eggs, sugar, and spice
    3. Add bread last by submerging it using your hands so that ut gets thoroughly soaked.
    4. Transfer into buttered 9 by 13 inch pan.
    5. pour gently so that bread doesn't break up to much.
    6. Bake until an inserted skewer or knife comes out clean. About 40 minutes
    7. Yield: 12 servings
    8. Prep Time: 10 minutes. cook time: 45 minutes. Difficulty: Easy
