Deep Dish Hamburger Pie
List of Ingredients
- 2 cups Bisquick Baking Mix
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups ( 6 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese divided
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, cut in half and thinly sliced
- 1 (8 oz. ) cantainer sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 ( 14 1/2 oz) can Italian -style tomatoes, drained
- 1(14 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 ( 14 1/2 oz) can french style green beans, drained
- 2 teaspoons lemon pepper
Instructions
- Stir together baking mix, milk, and 1/2 cup cheese. Turn dough out onto a surface sprinkle with baking mix. Shape into ball, and knead dough 3 to 4 times. Press dough evenly into bottom and 1 inch up sides of a 13 X 9 inch baking dish.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Cook Beef, onion, and mushrooms, in a large skillet until beef is browned, stirring until it crumbles; drain well.
- Stir in tomatoes and next 3 ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 5 to 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Spoon over biscuit crust.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese and bake 5 more minutes. Yield 8 servings
