    SUGAR COOKIES

    Source of Recipe

VERY OLD ONE OF MINE. From High School years. Was 70 in 2001

    Recipe Introduction

This is what I used for years and years.......

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/4 Cup Flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 Teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs. beaten
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    1 Tablespoon Milk

    Recipe

Mix flour, salt, baking powder together.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, then the dry ingredients and milk. And Chill.
Take 1 Tablespoon of cookie mix and roll each one in hands.
Place on baking sheet. Stamp with a flat glass that was dip in sugar each time.
I usually start out putting a bit
of shortening on the bottom of the glass the first time
before I dip it in the sugar and then slightly press the cookie to the cookie sheet. Then dipping it in the dish of sugar each time for each cookie.
Bake 375 degrees about 12 minutes.
Should make about 2 to 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

NOTE** If you like chocolate cookies, add 2 oz. square chocolate melted to the creamed mixture.

NOTE*** You can sprinkle with color sugar before cooking and afterwards, can put iceing on them.
    Wonderful for Christmas or anytime....LOL
