    TOFFEE TREATS

    Source of Recipe

    Suzy

    List of Ingredients

Butter 9 X 12 pan. Line the pan with whole graham crackers, trimming them to fit to the edges of the pan.

Boil together for 2 minutes: (Time it from time it starts a rolling boil.)
    1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar (dark brown sugar, if you have it)

    Recipe

Pour over the graham crackers & spread. Bake 7 minutes at 325. Remove from oven.

The original recipe calls for spreading a 12 oz bag of milk chocolate chips (NOT regular semi-sweet!) on top of the bars as soon as they come out of the oven.

But, I use a very easy, delicious fudge-like cooked icing instead of using chips for the icing. When using Toddy's Fudge Icing, I spread it on the bars while they are still warm. I usually have the icing ingredients measured out & ready to go & the butter already melting when the bars come out of oven. With the cooked icing you do use semi-sweet chocolate chips. Cut while still warm. These bars also freeze well with Toddy's Icing on it.
