    TODDY'S FUDGE ICING

    Source of Recipe

    Suzy

    List of Ingredients

    4 Tablespoons butter
3 Tablespoons milk (I sometimes add a teaspoon or so more for easier spreading consistency)
1 cup brown sugar (dark brown if you have it)

    Recipe

Place above ingredients in pan. Bring to a full boil and boil for l minute. Remove from heat & immediately add 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir to dissolve chips. Spread quickly on to bars before it starts to set, or thicken. If you spend too much time on
this step, the icing will begin to set up before you get done spreading it.

The original icing recipe for Toddy's Fudge Icing called for 4 Tablespoons cream & 3 tablespoons butter. Since I never have cream on hand I made the change as listed above.

After you've made this a couple of times, you will know just how much milk to use to make it spreadable. Cut while still warm. (Even if you plan to freeze) To make a bar sized pan, make 1 and 1/2 times the recipe. Use the same cooking times. I usually make the above sized recipe for fudge icing and just spread it a little thinner. The more milk you use the more easily it will spread. But if you use too much milk it won't set.
