    Apple-orange-Garlic Pork Chops

    Source of Recipe

    Debbie

    List of Ingredients

1 pkg pork chops (mine had 9)
1 whole head of garlic peeled and sliced
1 granny smith apple sliced, peeled, cored and cut into bite-size pieces
6 shallots or 1 med onion peeled and chopped
    1/2 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 tsp each cinnamon, ground ginger and allspice
    salt and pepper to taste
    cooking spray
about 1 tablespoon olive oil (if cooking on top of stove)

    Recipe

For Crockpot: Spray inside of crock with cooking spray. Place all dry ingredients inside, except spices, starting with half the garlic and apples. Place pork chops on top of that, then add the rest of the dry on top of meat. Mix orange juice and chicken broth in a small bowl, all spices and stir well. Pour over other ingredients, cover and cook on high 4 - 6 hours or on low 8 - 10 hours, or until chops are done.

On Stovetop: Spray pan with cooking spray, add garlic and cook till toasty brown; add apples and cook till golden brown. Stir often to keep from sticking. Add oil and shallots, stirring to coat with oil. Add pork chops, and cook till no longer pink on the outside. Mix juice and broth in a small bowl, add spices and stir well. Pour over ingredients in pot/pan, cover and cook over medium heat till done.
