    List of Ingredients


    • 3 Cups all purpose Flour
    • 1 Cup Sugar, divided
    • 1 Tblespoon baking Powder
    • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
    • 1/2 tspoon salt
    • 1/4 tspoon ground nutmeg
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
    • 1 egg
    • vegetable oil for frying


    Instructions


    1. Combine flour, 1/2 c. sugar, baking powder, 1 tsp. cinnamon, salt and nutmeg.

    2. In large bowl combine milk, butter and egg; Stir in flour mixture until combine.

    3. Cover; refrigerate 30 minutes.

    4. Turn dough out onto lightely floured surface. Using lightly lightly floured rolling pin, roll out dough 1/2 inch thickness. Using doughnutCutter cut out doughnuts. Reserving holes.

    5. In skillet heat 1 inch oil over high heat to 375 degrees. Gently drop dough in batches into oil. Fry, turning twice, until puffy and golden., 1 to 2 minutes per side. Fry holes 1 minute per side.

    6. Combine remaining sugar with remaining cinnamon; together with warm donuts. Or even sprinkle with powder sugar. Also can put chocolate iceing on plain donuts on one side.

    7. Makes around 16 donuts and 16 holes.
