    1 cup buttermilk
    1½ cups oil
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 (1 oz) bottles red food coloring
    1 tsp white vinegar
    2½ cups self-rising flour
    1 tsp soda
    1½ cups sugar
    1 T cocoa
    2 large eggs

    FROSTING

    11 ounces cream cheese, softened
    1½ sticks butter, softened
    1 box powdered sugar
    1 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    In a small bowl, combine buttermilk, oil, vanilla, red food coloring and white vinegar. Whisk to combine and set aside. In large bowl of mixer combine flour, baking soda, sugar and cocoa. Grdually add buttermilk mixture, while beating at low speed and scraping sides and bottom of bowl. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Grease and flour 3 9 inch cake pans. Pour batter, dividing equally into the three pans. Bake for 25 minutes at 350°.

    FROSTING

    In small bowl of mixer, combine crem cheese and butter. Beat at low speed until well combined. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Add chopped pecans. Frost cake.
