    Rich Moist Chocolate Cake

    List of Ingredients




    ½ cup shortening
    1 stick margarine
    3 T cocoa
    1 cup water
    ½ cup buttermilk
    2 eggs
    1 tsp soda
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 cups flour
    2 cups sugar

    FROSTING

    1 stick margarine
    6 T milk
    3 T cocoa
    1 box powdered sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Combine shortening, margarine, cocoa and water in saucepan. Boil two minutes. Cool. Mix together buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla; add to cocoa mixture. Pour all this over the flour and sugar in a large bowl. Bake in a greased 13x9 pan for 25-30 minutes at 400°.

    FROSTING

    Combine margarine, cocoa and milk in a saucepan and boil for two minutes. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and chopped pecans.
    Pour over hot cake.
