    Rima's Fondue

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

This recipe is basically Rhinelanders Fondue, but I doubled the wine and used half the amount of water.

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup water
    2 cup chardeney wine
    2 cloves garlic, pressed
    1 T butter
    dash of white pepper
    dash of nutmeg
2 16 oz. pkg processed swiss cheese, indvidually wrapped

    Recipe

1.Put all ingredients except cheese in a pot and bring to a boil.
2.Turn down heat to low and add cheese a few slices at a time(remember to peel off plastic), stirring constantly. When fondue is smooth, it is ready to serve.
When using bread as dippers cube and lightly toast in oven so it will really soak up the fondue.

A few tips**don't use Lucerne brand processed swiss, it comes out very stringy. Use Kraft, Fred Meyer(if you have one), Flavorite, Western Family.
*** serve with sourdough, pumpernicel, rye, hard bread sticks, apples, large grapes, pear, ham.
I always buy a good bottle of wine so I can drink the rest with dinner.
