Fudge Filled Cupcakes

1 pkg (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup chocolate chips, divided
1 pkg yellow cake mix, made according to directions.
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 24 muffin cups. In a large bowl with mixer on medium speed beat cream cheese, sugar and eggs until smooth and creamy. Place 1/4 cup chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for approx 1-2 minutes or until melted. Stir chips until smooth. Beat the melted chips into cream cheese mixture. Stir in the remaining chips and set aside. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full with batter. Drop a heaping tsp of cream cheese into the center of each cupcake. Bake 20 minutes. Sprinkle tops with powdered sugar when cooled.
