    Sweet & Sour Meatloaf

    Recipe Introduction


    This is our all-time favorite meatloaf.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
    • 1 c. bread crumbs
    • 1 t. salt
    • 1/4 t. pepper
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    • 2 T. brown sugar
    • 2 T. vinegar
    • 1/2 c. white sugar
    • 2 t. prepared mustard


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, onion and half of tomato sauce. Form into a loaf, wrap in foil and put into a pan.
    3. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
    4. Mix remaining tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, white sugar and mustard in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
    5. Pour over meat loaf and bake another 10 minutes.


    Final Comments


    I usually double the sauce and just pour half over the meatloaf. The rest we use on top of the slices of the meatloaf on our plates.
