    Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

    List of Ingredients


    • FILLING:
    • 1/2 c. peanut butter
    • 1/4 c. powdered sugar
    • COOKIE:
    • 1/2 c. brown sugar
    • 1/4 c. sugar
    • 1/2 c. butter, softened
    • 8 oz. cream cheese (reserve 2 oz. for frosting)
    • 1 t. vanilla
    • 1 egg
    • 2 c. flour
    • 1/4 c. cocoa
    • 1 t. baking powder
    • FROSTING:
    • 1 c. powdered sugar
    • 2 T. cocoa
    • 1 - 2 T. milk
    • reserve 2 oz. cream cheese


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. In small bowl combine peanut butter and powdered sugar; blend until smooth. Chill while mixing cookie dough for easier handling.
    3. In large bowl, cream sugars, butter and 6 oz. cream cheese until light and fluffy; blend in vanilla and egg. Blend flour, cocoa and baking powder into creamed mixture.
    4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. With thumb make imprint in center of each cookie; fill with 1 teaspoon filling. Bring dough around filling to completely cover.
    5. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 9-12 minutes. Cool.
    6. In small bowl, blend frosting ingredients. Spread over cookies.
