    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pkg. German Chocolate cake mix
    • 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
    • 6 T. butter or margarine
    • 1 c. pecans, chopped
    • 1 c. pecans, chopped
    • 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
    • vanilla ice cream (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Mix cake according to package directions. Set aside half of the batter; pour remaining batter into a greased and floured 9/13 cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 minutes.
    3. Meanwhile, in a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels, milk and butter. Remove from heat and add nuts.
    4. Pour over cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour reserve batter over the top.
    5. Bake 20-25 minutes more or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool.
    6. Cut into squares. If desired top each with a scoop of ice cream.
