    Chocolate Caramel Thumbprint Cookies

    ½ c. butter, slightly softened
    2/3 c. sugar
    3 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
    1 egg
    ½ tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    ½ c. finely chopped pecqns
    15 caramels, unwrapped
    2 T. milk

    Recipe




    Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer on med. speed until light and fluffy. Add melted chocolate, egg and vanilla; beat until well blended. Add flour; mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or until well chilled.
    Preheat oven to 350°. Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll in pecans; press pecans gently into dough to secure. Place, 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Make an indentation in center of each ball with your thumb.
    Bake 12 to 14 min. or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheets; cool on wire racks.
    Microwave caramels and milk in microwavable bowl on HIGH for 1 minute or until caramels are completely melted when stirred. Stirring after 30 seconds. Spoon in center of cookies. Cool until set.
