This is a favorite of Captain Jack.
List of Ingredients
1 can tomato soup
2 can water
1 can red wine (we like burgundy)
1/4 cup flour or corn starch
2 lb. beef chunks
1 pkg. baby carrots
1 onion, diced
4 med. potatoes, diced
1/2 cup celery chunks
1 pkg. fresh mushrooms, diced
2 beef or chicken bullion cubes
season to tasteRecipe
Mix together soup, water & flour until smooth; combine remaining ing. In covered dutch oven
Bake 275 4 - 5- hours
Notes:
I like to saute the onions, garlic and celery in a little olive oil until softened before I brown my meat chunks. It seems to bring out the flavor of these vegetables better. You can find 4-packs of single serving wine. This is what I use unless I have a large bottle of burgundy open. I just made this yesterday morning and added some frozen green peas as another vegetable.
