    Makes 10 biscuits
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1-1/2 teaspoons salt
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 cup chilled Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1/2
    Butter
    Flavor Crisco stick
    3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon buttermilk
    2 tablespoons melted Butter Flavor CRISCO

    Preheat oven to 400ºF. Combine dry ingredients with a fork in a mixing bowl. Cut in the Crisco Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening using a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of the bowl and add buttermilk. Mix dry ingredients into buttermilk with your hands until a sticky dough forms. Place dough onto a floured surface. Knead dough three or four times. Roll dough out until it is 3/4-inch thick. Cut with a 3-inch biscuit cutter without turning the biscuit cutter (push straight down). Transfer dough rounds to a sheet pan. Gather scraps and repeat process.Press thumb gently in the center of each biscuit to help dough rise evenly.Brush with melted Butter Flavor Crisco. Bake 23 minutes or until golden
    brown.
